Canada is known primarily for sports and music stars, but in addition to Bryan Adams and Justin Bieber, this northern country has given the world a whole squad of Hollywood celebrities. Read who they are in our selection.

Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson was raised in Ladysmith, British Columbia, where she was born. She frequently appeared on the covers and inside the pages of Playboy magazine, to the point where she still holds the record for most covers.

She also starred in Home Improvement and V.I.P., but Baywatch, which aired from 1992 to 1997, remains one of her most recognizable roles. As of July 2019, Anderson has relocated back to Canada and is now residing on Vancouver Island.

Clara Hughes

Multiple-time Speed skater and Olympic medalist Clara Hughes excel in both sports. The Manitoban athlete, who won two medals in cycling and four in speed skating, is the only Canadian to take home hardware from both the summer and Winter Olympics.

She was recognized as the "Female Athlete of the Year" in 2004 by Speed Skating Canada. In 2006, she earned the Sport and Community Award from the International Olympic Committee. When she was admitted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2015, she was given a permanent place in Canadian sporting history.

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, a brave 10-year-old, wrote comedian Carol Burnett a letter requesting an appearance on her program, The Carol Burnett Show since he was skilled at "performing impressions." He has done fairly well for himself despite the fact that that role never materialized.

His birthplace was Newmarket, Ontario. With parts in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, and The Mask, he burst into the big screen in 1994. The celebrity was inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 2004 and is the recipient of two Golden Globes.

She may be a familiar face to you from the romantic comedy The Girl Next Door or the action drama 24. One of Canada's most adored celebrities is Elisha Cuthbert. She went to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to pursue her goals after being born in Calgary, Alberta.

Ryan Gosling

Gosling grew up in Canada's Ontario province. At the age of 13, he started acting as a child before winning audiences over as the endearing Noah in The Notebook. Gosling joins the cast of Disney's The All-New Mickey Mouse Club alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, two additional superstars.

Several sportswriters, players, and even the NHL itself have referred to "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky as the greatest hockey player to ever play the game. He played for four teams for 20 seasons between 1979 and 1999.

In a sense, Kiefer Sutherland was born into Canadian acting aristocracy! Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, his parents, were well-known figures in their own industries.

The singer of Senorita is an Ontarian from Pickering. Shawn started posting song covers on the video-sharing app Vine in 2013. From there, he began to rise to fame gradually after his debut studio album, Handwritten, was published when he was only 18 years old.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta, in 1943, albeit few people are aware of this. Joni, who is 77 years old and has nine Grammy Awards to her name in addition to many other honors, has every reason to be pleased with her professional achievements.
